Completed Projects

Set up a 10-Bed-ICU in a District Hospital at Nuzvid, Krishna District – Andhra Pradesh, with the help of NGO Nirmaan

The Covid Pandemic has caught India’s creaking healthcare system unawares, with reports of shortages in critical-care beds and oxygen, delays in testing and hospitals turning away critically ill patients. Before the pandemic, India had about 0.5 hospital bed for every 1,000 people, compared with a global average of nearly 2.9.

We worked with Nirmaan, a leading healthcare NGO to setup a 10-Bed-ICU at Nuzvid-Andhra Pradesh, with the most modern monitoring equipment, to cater to the healthcare needs of one and all.

The state of the art ICU facility was inaugurated by Raj Velagapudi on 14th Aug 2021. The medical superintendent of the hospital along with members of Raj’s family were present at the event.

Setup a Covid Care Center in Rekhapally village, a remote tribal village in East Godavari District (Andhra Pradesh – India), with the help of NGO Action Aid

With the second covid wave posing serious health challenges across India, the healthcare infrastructure was tested further in remote villages across the country. With no proper medical facilities and a shortage of healthcare staff, there was an acute need to set up Covid care facilities across the country.

One such remote location is Chinturu, located in the East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. It is an Integrated Tribal Development Agency area and covers the Chinturu, V R Puram, Kunavaram, and Yetapaka mandals. The district headquarters hospital is very far(150 kms away) from these tribal villages and there are few Primary Health Centres with no proper medical facilities and a shortage of health staff.

Sensing the grave situation, we got in touch with the Action Aid Association to set up a fully functional Covid care centre in May 2021, at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya – Rekhapally. The centre currently serves as a 25 bedded covid isolation centre for patients with mild symptoms, providing nutritious food, basic medical facilities, and counselling.

The centre has already set high standards in health care with 24X7 availability of medical staff. Those admitted at the centre are subject to regular check-ups for temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. A comprehensive covid prevention kit that includes masks and sanitizers has also been given. Wholesome and nutritious meals are provided to ensure a speedy recovery. Yoga, music, and counselling sessions have also been provided for them to get well soon

As of today, 2 batches of residents have stayed at the centre and got cured totally and left in better health and cheer.

Setup a Water Treatment Plant in Malkapuram village, Thurkapally Mandal of Nalgonda District in Telangana – India

Nalgonda district in Telangana, India is one such region where high concentration of fluoride is present in groundwater. Fluorosis, a public health problem is caused by excessive intake of fluoride through drinking water (and other sources) over a long period. It results in significant health issues like dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis and non-skeletal fluorosis. Over 19 Lakh population of Nalgonda are at risk because of the high concentration of fluoride found in ground water.

Sensing the need to provide purified drinking water in such an affected region, our trust got in touch with the Gram Panchayat of Malkapuram, a village in Thurkapally mandal of Nalgonda to setup a water purification plant to cater to the drinking water needs of the 600 villagers. The village ground water had a fluoride content of 2.5ppm.

The 500 LPH water plant was inaugurated by Raj Velagapudi on March 3rd 2021 and over 100 villagers attended this event.
